Nottingham Games -- Sat. 26 Nov 2005

We took off today from our hostel at 3++ am in the morning to Nottingham. This sports carnival is an event organized for Singaporeans and Malaysians annually. MSA held theirs two weeks ago while Singsoc is having it this Saturday. I played basketball, and having loss the game, we head to down to the town and have a nice tour. This town have a legendary figure -- Robin Hood. We had a sip of the local ale too, soothing and smooth. The Nottingham castle is magnificient! Reached back to Montefiore by midnight. what a journey.

Busy with coursework and waterpolo training these days... Being the only asian in the team is kinda weird. Just attended their swimming training this morning, phew.. it was tough. Anw, at least I got something to kill my time with and stay in shape! Some new rules for waterpolo includes this line : Punishment for brutality changed to complete exclusion with substitution after 4 mins actual play. Yup, I have seen it and got a taste of it... some of them can be quite brutal indeed... But overall it is an enjoyable sports, I'm glad that I took it up.

The Electronics and Comp Science fabrication lab on fire! The whole plant is gone now... 4 explosions on last Sunday morning brought this facility to ground. The school is trying their best to get everything back in order. No travelling for this week, better catch up on studies and also kinda no mood after this sad incident. Undergrad and postgrad taught (me) are less affected than those doing r esearch. A friend of mine lost her 18 months work, who is supposed to be graduating soon as phd... sad huh?!
